Senator Warns White House Will ‘Create Crisis’ and ‘Panic’ to Push Stimulus Posted: 27 Jan 2009 06:40 PM CST “Is the new Obama administration taking cues from the Bush administration to get Congress to act? It certainly seemed that way to, South Carolina’s junior Republican senator, Jim DeMint. DeMint, speaking Jan. 27 at The Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C., explained the Obama administration will “create crisis and widespread panic” just like its predecessor in order to get Congress to act expeditiously. “I’ve been around long enough to know whenever someone tells me I have to make a decision right now, my response is no,” DeMint said. “That clears it up right away and I think more and more the Bush administration and now this administration knows that they’re not going to get a quick reaction out of Congress unless they create crisis and widespread panic. And that’s going to be their M.O. to get Congress to act.” So if we can just get the truth to the American people, or just a segment of the American people, I think you’ll, you’ll see a groundswell of anger, again because there’s, there’s a real fatigue out there on these bailouts,” DeMint continued. “I think even people who are normally not that political are coming up to me and they just sense that we’re running this country into a ditch. I’ve never seen people so anxious and so – well, I mean they grab my arm. They’re no longer single issue people. They just say, ‘Thanks for fighting. What can I do?’ I’ve heard that at least a hundred times. That’s – we just need to let people know the truth and think that they’ll get engaged.” |

HR 645: Congress Seeks to Authorize & Legalize FEMA Camps Posted: 27 Jan 2009 05:05 PM CST A new bill has been introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives called the National Emergency Centers Act or HR 645. This bill, if passed into law, will direct the Secretary of Homeland Security to establish national emergency centers otherwise known as FEMA camp facilities on military installations. This is an incredibly disturbing piece of legislation considering that the powers that be have already set in motion an agenda to setup a nationwide marital law apparatus through U.S. Northern Command and the Department of Homeland Security. Apparently, the fusion centers, militarized police, surveillance cameras and a domestic military command is not enough. Even though we know that detention facilities are already in place, they now want to legalize the construction of FEMA camps on military installations using the ever popular excuse that the facilities are for the purposes of a national emergency. With the phony debt based economy getting worse and worse by the day, the possibility of civil unrest is becoming a greater threat to the establishment. One need only look at Iceland, Greece and other nations for what might happen in the United States next. With this in mind, it appears as if these so called national emergency centers will be used in a national emergency but only if the national emergency requires large groups of people to be rounded up and detained. If that isn’t the case, than why have these national emergency facilities built in military installations? Let’s look through the various portions of the bill. Caught About 5 Minutes of that “Blowhard” Limbaugh’s Show Today Posted: 27 Jan 2009 02:40 PM CST Five minutes was all I could take. Had to laugh when he was talking about the Democrats and how their stimulus package was going to devalue the dollar and lead to inflation and that nobody is talking about this. Of course, no mention of the first stimulus packages and $700B bailout passed by a democratic Congress with most Republicans on board and signed by Bush . Wonder if he has been hibernating in a cave for the past couple of years and didn’t get a chance to hear Ron Paul do nothing but talk about this…overspending and devaluing dollar? |

Posted: 27 Jan 2009 10:39 AM CST by Ron Paul | January 26, 2008 This week the House is expected to pass an $825 billion economic stimulus package. In reality, this bill is just an escalation of a government-created economic mess. As before, a sense of urgency and impending doom is being used to extract mountains of money from Congress with minimal debate. So much for change. This is déjà vu. We are again being promised that its passage will help employment, help homeowners, help the environment, etc. These promises are worthless. This time around especially, Congress should know better than to pass anything of this magnitude without first reading the fine print. There a many red flags that I have found in this bill. At least $4 billion is allocated to expanding the police state and the war on drugs through Byrne grants, which even the Bush administration opposed, and the COPS program, both of which are corrupt and largely ineffective programs. To help Big Brother keep a better eye on us and our children, $20 billion would go towards health information technology, which would create a national system of electronic medical records without adequate privacy protection. These records would instead be subject to the misnamed federal “medical privacy” rule, which allows government and state-favored special interests to see medical records at will. An additional $250 million is allocated for states to nationalize individual student data, expanding Federal control of education and eroding privacy. |

Ex-officer pleads not guilty in BART shooting

January 16, 2009
OAKLAND, California (CNN) — A former police officer for the Bay Area transit system pleaded not guilty Thursday in the New Year’s Day shooting of a passenger at an Oakland rail station.
Johannes Mehserle, 27, appeared in a packed Alameda County courtroom, with his supporters separated by a courtroom aisle from relatives of shooting victim Oscar Grant III and other spectators. Mehserle is charged with shooting Grant, 22, in an incident that spurred violent protests in Oakland after being captured on video.
Mehserle resigned his job as a Bay Area Rapid Transit police officer days after the shooting, and he was arrested in Nevada earlier this week. Thursday’s proceedings took less than five minutes, with Mehserle appearing behind heavy windows in an enclosure out of view of all but a handful of spectators.

National Starbucks Boycott?
2:50 PM on Jan. 26, 2009
While leaving my local Starbucks today, I was surprised to notice a new little table set beside the door with an Obama-inspired banner reading “YES WE CAN” draped from it. I went to investigate the table and found it to be recruitment for a “National Service Drive”. This, coupled with the obvious Obama-plug, reminded me of Obama’s speech promising to form a Civilian National Security Force.
I happen to like Starbucks, and I happen to like Barack Obama (at least, more than McCain), but that particular speech had made me uneasy. A Civilian National Security Force? Don’t we already have like 50 of those? What is the Police? The National Guard? The FBI? The CIA? The Department of Homeland Security? All of these are civilian organizations, and all of them are for security. That speech immediately conjured stories of the nazi brownshirts in my mind, as well as in the minds of probably thousands of other Americans. But to his credit, Obama dropped this message from his platform later in the campaign, probably due to the overwhelmingly negative reaction to it. So, when I saw this table at Starbucks, that “supports the call for National Service”, I got chills. I took one of the cards that were provided, and read it over. It seemed to be a deal that provided free coffee to costumers who spend time doing chartitable service… (walkathons, food drives, blood donations, etc.) which is okay with me. But I left Starbucks today with a nagging feeling that something was terribly wrong. Since when did we allow corporations to tell us how to spend our free time? Aren’t they overstepping their bounds just a little? And does this mean that Starbacks will be recruiting for Obama’s Security Force when he implements it? It seems that Starbucks tows the Democrat party line. After all – who is their target demographic? The snotty liberal artsy Macintosh coffee-shop type, of course, and this is really just an extention of their original marketing strategy; selling mediocre coffee at premium prices. After all – they get their coffee from places that are not renowned for quality beans; places like Paraguay and Puerto Rico. Starbucks claims that good coffee comes from the “coffee belt” – counrties a specific distance from the equaitor, but this isn’t actually true. A coffee connoisseurs know that soil conditions and altitude are more important, which is why some of the world’s best coffee comes from places like Scandinavia – extremely far from the “coffee belt”. So if Starbucks makes marginal coffee, and charges premium prices for it, why is it so popular? It’s popular because you’re not buying coffee when you go to Starbucks – you’re buying atmosphere, and the experience of participating in some collective snobby high-brow posturing. They have done such a good job at marketing and creating an image that people have convinced themselves that it really is good coffee, because it’s clientele; trendy young worldly people. But a coffee connoisseur wouldn’t be caught dead in a Starbucks, nor would someone who’s truely worldly. The truth is that Starbuck has a list of ethical, environmental, and antitrust violations as long as my arm. To their credit, they HAVE been good at fixing these problems when word leaks out, but the problem is that they don’t seem to care about immoral practices until there’s some public outcry. In summary: Starbucks doesn’t care, and if you thought they did, you’ve been suckered. They pretend to care because that is part of the image that continues to bring in the ignorant art crowd who believes that they’re well-informed, so that they can perpetuate themselves as a status symbol, while raking in the proits. (For other corporations that due this: see: Apple Computers) So they’re taking advantage of an opportunity to make money, what’s wrong with that? Here’s what’s wrong with it: they are pushing ideas with their coffee, and labelling it as the posh, artsy, informed, worldly position, while ignoring reality. First off, these people are so high on their horse that they don’t realize that America is in decline. “Let them eat cake”-anyone?. Why are we contributing 5 cents per bottle of Ethos water to Africa when there are places in America that need it just as bad? 10-cents percup of Project Red coffee leaves the country too. Why should we do this when America is in decline? Each time someone enters a Starbucks, they are subtly bombarded with a bunch of messages: globalism is among the forefront, environmental alarmism, and elitism. They are guilted into believing that charity is their duty, and can’t opt out of it, and now they are pushing that corporate America has the authority to suggest what we should do with our free time. Thanks, but no-thanks, I’m boycotting Starbucks, effective immediately, and going to buy my coffee at a far-less presumptious Dunkin Doughnuts. With added benefits, no less: cleaner record, and less expensive drinks. |

Obama’s Mass Movement Gets a New Mission

“People don’t remember what fascism was, I am afraid. A lot of people think, especially here in the U.S. where people are ignorant, people believe that fascism is a purely top down phenomenon,” author Webster Griffin Tarpley told the Dutch journalist Daan de Wit during an interview on May 11, 2008. “Fascism is the march on Rome; fascism is the storm troopers fighting in the streets. It is a gutter and street level movement; it is a grass roots movement that has anti-authoritarian cover, anti-parliamentary, anti-congress cover. It has left cover. Mussolini of course was a revolutionary socialist and a lot of people in his movement were left wingers, you now, extreme trade union activists, syndicalists and stuff like this.”
The Marxist Leon Trotsky understood this. Speaking of German and Italian fascism, Trotsky said fascism requires “a great deal of socialist demagogy. This is necessary for the creation of the mass movement. The genuine basis (for fascism) is the petty bourgeoisie. In Italy, it has a very large base — the petty bourgeoisie of the towns and cities, and the peasantry. In Germany, likewise, there is a large base for fascism.” Mussolini’s fascist mass movement did not consist primarily of “petty bourgeoisie” followers as Trotsky seems to indicate, but had a large number of more affluent middle and upper class followers as well, an important and indeed required element due to the fact fascism is not a truly revolutionary ideology but one that preserves the socioeconomic status quo at all costs under the cover of revolution. As the communist political theorist Antonio Gramsci correctly noted, fascism represents the “Caesarism” of the ruling elite. (It should be noted that Gramsci was arrested by Mussolini and interned at Regina Coeli, the famous Roman prison.)
In order for the banksters and ruling elite behind Obama to realize their political agenda and wipe out all effective opposition in the process, the Obama mass movement — initially described as merely a grassroots political movement organized to get Obama elected — will now become “Obama 2.0,” or officially “Organizing for America,” a “new group… that aims to continue the grassroots advocacy that the former Illinois Senator began in his presidential campaign,” according to the Washington Post.
The new group will work within the Democratic National Committee — led by Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine — to advance the Obama agenda. “President-elect Obama has laid the foundation to meet the great challenges facing our nation, but we can succeed only if we build grassroots support for the administration’s agenda,” said Kaine in a release announcing the formation of Organizing for America.
The new group had been long expected within Obama’s inner circle and, although no details on how it would be staffed were released by the transition office today, it is expected that longtime Obama loyalists will be placed in charge — following the blueprint set out at the DNC.
In the above, simply trade “grassroots” for “mass movement” and you will have a better idea of what is going on.
As Tarpley notes in Obama – the Postmodern Coup, “the banking establishment (Trilateral, Bilderberger, CFR, etc.) appears determined to play the card of mass mobilization through the so-called Obama movement.” Not only will this “notable shift in strategy and tactics… require the synthesis of a new form of mass demagogy” and a new ideology (in essence, the same old ideology repackaged) for the sake of the neoliberal globalist agenda of foreign wars in the name of corporate domination, it will also require an authoritarian clampdown on domestic opposition. “Obama could,” Tarpley writes, “deploy his lemming legions in the form of a postmodern fascist mass movement, making political resistance to his regime inside the United States a very difficult enterprise.”
Americans no longer read and learn from history and this will lead to their downfall. As numerous historians note, including Tarpley, fascism begins as a mass movement covertly sponsored by the bankers and produces a system destined to crush all individuality. “As in the writings of Mussolini’s ideologue, Giovanni Gentile, or the ravings of Michael Ledeen, the aspirations of the individual are rigidly subordinated to the exigencies of the regime,” Tarpley warns.
Addendum
According to the Center for Responsive Politics, “executives of finance, insurance and real estate companies and their family members” are footing a large part of the inaugural bill. “Top donors from the world of high finance included George Soros, Ronald Perelman and David Shaw, the center said.”
“While Americans are hoping for real change in Washington, many deep-pocketed donors are hoping money still buys them access and influence,” said Sheila Krumholz, executive director of the non-partisan money-in-politics watchdog group.
Unfortunately. Ms. Krumholz is clueless — “deep-pocketed donors” not only have access, they in fact own the government lock, stock, and barrel.
It is not an exaggeration to claim that über-billionaire George Soros owns the Democrat party, as Saturday Night Live proffered as a joke back in October. Obama has met repeatedly with the “liberal” Soros — as the neocons and faux conservatives foolishly call him — and the globalist fixer has lined up crucial support and fundraisers with the likes of Jim Torrey, Brian Mathis, Jamie Rubin, Orin Kramer, Paul Tudor Jones, Edgar Bronfman, Jr., and Steven Gluckstern of Soro’s globalist Democracy Alliance, among influential and criminal others (see How Soros Financed Obama’s Campaign).
You may remember Ronald Perelman, at one time billed as the richest man in America — he made billions on the stooped back of the average chump taxpayer. In 1988, “the First Gibraltar Bank was merged with four failing S&Ls and sold to Ronald Perelman (at the time, the fifth richest man in America). Perelman and his partners paid just $315 million for $7.1 billion in good assets; the government then gave them $5.1 billion to cover bad assets, plus $900 million in tax breaks. In the first year Perelman et al. owned it, Gibraltar made a profit of $129 million and got an additional $ 121 million in tax breaks,” write Mark Zepezauer and Arthur Naiman (The S & L Bailout:$32 billion every year for 30 years).
David Shaw is a dwarf by way of comparison, a mere “venture capitalist” in pharmaceuticals, who is married to actress Glenn Close and spends time rubbing elbows over at the Council on Foreign Relations.

US Government makes profit from jobs going overseas!
January 18, 2009
Something I just learned:
Government at all levels have invesment funds that earn them twice what the citizens pay in taxes!
Is it possible that we could eliminate taxes as we know them and govenment could be run on the return on investment of both domestic and international business? A citizens initiative has been set in motion to get a referendum on the city ,county, and state ballot to effect just that. The two links in this message should be helpful.

>Do you know how many trillions of dollars YOUR Local and Federal Government has invested with Mexico, China, the old Soviet block countries? Investments held in foreign currency? Government investments that greatly profit from that cheap labor abroad and a lower dollar.
[Think NAFTA, GATT, WTO, etc...]
In the 60’s, most government investment funds were restricted to a cap of 5% to a maximum of 10% invested outside of the USA. By 2000, that restriction has been increased in many a case to over 45% and in some cases no restriction at all per percent of International investments held. (Guess who or should I say “what” made the big overall profit from the 911 event?) Could it be? Let’s not go there! To many bubbles may burst….. Is the big picture coming into view for you yet?
I sure hope so! Correction is needed!
That is if you still own your country to make a difference. Well do you? Own it that is? Well, do you? If you answered yes to that question, you are wealthier than you thought.http://cafr1.com/

Pension funds pay a salary and benefits at retirement. Any local government can be restructured to meet their annual budget needs “Without” taxes. TRF (Tax Retirement Funds) paying for every City, County, State’s annual budgetary needs! This now makes the people the true owners with government being the true service provider. Government has already shown that a TRF works by example through the management of their own combined multi-trillion dollar pension funds! CAFR1 says: Make it law and make it so!

DA appeals to community, defends murder charge against BART cop
January 17, 2009

Raw Story
Thursday, Jan 15, 2009
Alameda County District Attorney Tom Orloff, at a Wednesday press conference, announced that a police officer involved in the fatal New Year’s Day shooting of a citizen was on his way back to California after being arrested and waiving extradition in Douglas County, Nevada.
The officer, Johannes Mehserle, was reportedly hiding out in the Lake Tahoe area after receiving death threats.
On New Year’s Day, 27-year-old Mehserle was recorded by onlookers pulling his gun and shooting 22-year-old Oscar Grant III, who was restrained and in handcuffs, in the back.
Grant had been taken off of a train and was being detained at the Fruitvale BART station in Oakland, California by police as part of a group under suspicion of being involved in a fight.
The incident was recorded by passersby and copies made their way to the press and the police, prompting public outcry and a $25 million lawsuit filed by Grant’s family against the Bay Area Rapid Transit Authority.
(Article continues below)
Unless new evidence surfaces during Mehserle’s trial, Orloff said, it is being treated as a homicide. “Murder charges were filed because at this point, what I feel the evidence indicates is an unlawful killing done by an intentional act, and from the evidence we have, there’s nothing that would mitigate that to something lower than a murder.”
None of the other officers at the scene, he added, were being charged.
“I understand that there’s a great deal of emotion in the community,” he added in an appeal to the public, “and I understand that this situation raises a lot of significant social issues in our community. I would hope that people would have the respect for the system in which I’ve worked for 39 years, and would watch and would make their judgments based on how the system functions, and let the criminal justice system play this out.
“In terms of those that want to protest on the broader social issues, I think peaceful protest can be a very healthy thing.”
